Welcome to HiddenTigers!
We created this site to encourage an eco-friendly seating alternative to traditional repurposed office furniture. The site was born out of the frustration of finding a casual seat that was supportive and remained comfortable throughout marathon gaming sessions. Initially, we were leaning towards a traditional office-type chair with a high back and lumbar support. While some options had some customizable, when the product became more full-featured, they became expensive. Very expensive. Another dislike for that seating was that it still left the person with a limited series of positions.
While conducting our research, a brief discussion led us to remember a potential element from our childhood – the beanbag. The beanbag gave us the most desired option of infinite customizability. However, initially, there wasn’t serious consideration for a beanbag since almost everyone had negative thoughts from those childhood interactions – sticking to the plastic covers, the collapse of the fill material, and the mess created by the escape of that fill material when the cover failed.
However, the more that traditional seating failed to impress us, the more viable the beanbag concept became. We started seriously looking at ways to alleviate the challenges that we remembered. The plastic covers were replaced with more durable and natural fiber-based material. The crushable fill material was replaced with a denser and more resilient material. That selection also addressed a challenge that we didn’t originally realize existed – how to maintain a comfortable temperature and prevent the user from feeling too hot. The containment of the fill material is maintained by using internal containment pockets with secure fasteners. Of course, all of these items were created or obtained to be sustainable. After meeting these challenges, we realized that we might not be the only customers for a product like this. Hence the creation of Hidden Tigers.
In honor of Veterans Day, HiddenTiger proudly announced that for every purchase made between Friday and Monday over the Veterans Day weekend, it will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project charity.
Even in a small company such as HiddenTigers, there are Veterans who proudly served within various branches of the armed forces of this great nation. If they did not serve themselves, they still know someone who did. They also all know people who served in conflicts who either did not return or were deeply affected if they did. In honor of the sacrifices made by these brave Veterans, we are proud to assist them by donating to an organization that routinely helps these Veterans readjust after returning to civilian life. When people consider the post-deployment adjustment, they tend to focus on servicemen and women who have suffered physical injuries and body disfigurement. However, while many Veterans don’t initially appear to be affected by their service, there are often hidden conditions that can make routine life situations rather difficult for them. In some cases, many occurrences that others may take for granted such as sudden loud noises like a car backfiring can be triggering events for these Veterans. Then there are conditions like depression, loneliness, and suicidal ideation. The Wounded Warrior Project provides support on many different levels for conditions like these. The support that they provide is not only focused on physical injuries sustained by Veterans, but also on mental and family support which is not always provided by other charities. This is why we have decided to support the Wounded Warriors Project.
At HiddenTigers, we feel a debt of gratitude for the sacrifices made by all veterans who served their country and appreciate all that they have done in the name of service, duty, and honor.
